Thursday July 2nd NOMI organized its first Seminar
Digital Packaging: Convince your customer with a proposal in 3D. After welcoming the participants with a cup of coffee we had a brief tour through our facilities. The two central topics during the afternoon were: The use of 3D mock-ups in packaging development and trends and opportunities in flexible packaging.
3D mock-ups
Dirk Goethals of Athena Graphics showed their technology for transforming 2 dimensional graphic designs into a 3 dimensional almost photographic view.
This technology makes it possible to discover possible imperfections early in the process and therefore prevent high cost of failure.
Athena Graphics has developed ATHENA ONLINE, an on-line workflow management system, to optimise the communications and validation steps during the graphic design and test phase of the packaging development proces.
Flexible packaging, trends and opportunities
Because of the still growing popularity of flexible foil packaging we
have asked Rob Daniels of Pack Solutions to share his expertise in this field. Besides the diversity in shapes and choices to be made to select the right packaging we discussed about several new opportunities and the use bio degradable foils. Its added value and its short comings.
Why does NOMI Co-Packing organize a seminar?
As a professional Partner in Packaging we are part of the supply chain of our customers. Of course we continuously want to improve our service. We think organizing seminars is a good way to improve the knowledge of each other’s processes and discus about opportunities to further improve the cooperation with our customers. It is our intention to organize very interactive seminars in which we openly discuss about new developments. The added value and the shortcomings of these new developments.
Tastes like more…
The participants have valued our first seminar with an average grade of 7,8. Some remarks from the evaluations:
We are very pleased with the positive feedback from the participants. The seminar was closed with a small buffet to give everyone the opportunity to network among the participants.
We look back on a successful initiative that tastes like more and will have a follow up later this year.
