Choice of material types

For doypacks the current standard is a PET/PE foil. This combination of two plastic types provides many positive properties. For instance, PET ensures sufficient strength and visibility, while PE ensures good sealability of the foil. Sustainable alternatives also exist such as recyclable monolaminates and sealable paper. about Doypack

A doypack, also known as a stand-up pouch, is a standing bag designed and patented by French Louis Doyen in 1968. The specific construction of the bottom produces a bag that is very stable and that provides excellent presentation properties. The doypack is used for a wide variety of products, including confectionery, soup, drinks, pet food, cosmetics, and toys.
Doypacks are made from PET/PE foil, but they can also be produced with recyclable monolaminates and sealable paper.
The doypack is made using a horizontal packaging machine. Filling and dosing is done using a multihead weigher and/or counting machines.
The possibilities with a doypack are (almost) endless! Shape and size are completely customised and many extras are possible. For example, you can choose a zipper or Aplix Easylock system to make the bag reclosable. For larger weights you can opt for a die-cut handle to make it easier to carry the bag. To make the packaging easy to open, you can either choose easypeel foil which avoids having to tear the foil, or alternatively add a tear notch to facilitate the tearing of the foil.
The doypacks can be filled with both unpackaged product as primary packaging, as well as with packaged products as secondary packaging for a multipack or product mix. With unpacked product, extra attention should be paid to the barrier properties of the selected foil.
